The Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race is proud to introduce Adaptive and Para Athlete Race Categories, expanding our commitment to inclusion, safety, and community spirit. These categories are designed to support athletes with a range of abilities while ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate fully and confidently.
Para Athletes will now be able to register in one of three categories:
- Visually Impaired Athlete
- Autonomous Athlete with Assistance
- Wheelchair Athlete

The Fire & Falls Legacy Challenge!
The year 2026 marks two important anniversaries in local running;
- the 90th running of the Firefighters 10 Mile Road Race
- the 9th Running of the Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon
‘99 years' of local running at its finest
To celebrate, we have joined forces and created the "Fire and Falls Legacy Challenge" for this year only -- for those participants who complete BOTH
- the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race
- the Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon
- a total of 23.1 Miles for both races
Earn a unique finishing challenge coin to commemorate your achievement in both events

Numbers are limited and once the slots are taken it will be closed.
The coin will only be awarded to those who sign up in advance and have an OFFICIAL finishing time in BOTH the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race and Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon road races.
90th Celebration Apparel
To mark the 90th running of the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race, we're offering a special line of Limited Edition Celebration Apparel through Sportop. This exclusive collection includes commemorative t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets - designed for runners, supporters, and anyone who wants to wear a piece of race history.
The online store is open until April 19, 2026, closing at midnight. All items will be available prior to race weekend so that you can wear them with pride at the event. You will receive an email notification from Sportop when your order is ready for pick up.
Please note that these items are separate from the official 2026 race shirts provided during runner registration, which will be available at kit pickup.

Official 2026 Race Shirt Design!
Congratulations to Rachel McNabb for winning our t-shirt design contest with her amazing design for the 90th Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race Shirt.
Under Individual Registration, runners can purchase (optional) this T-shirt with their entry. Those runners who opt for an official 90th Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race Shirt will get their shirt at Kit Pick Up. The LAST day to order your race shirt is April 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Our 2026 Charity Partner is Isthmus
For the 90th Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race, we're proud to support Isthmus, a local charity feeding Thunder Bay children on weekends when school meals are not available.
- 100% of donations stay local.
- Donation is OPTIONAL during race registration.
- If you donate during our race registration, it will be donated to Isthmus Thunder Bay.
