PACERS

A pace bunny is a runner who has volunteered to give up their individual race goal in order to lead a group of runners during the race with the goal of bringing that group to the finish line in a predetermined finishing time. The idea is, if you follow the pace bunny, you will cross the finish line at that bunny's target time.

Pace bunnies are volunteers arranged through the Fresh Air Ten Mile Road Race Training Group that operate independently of the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race. Pacers will be wearing bunny ears and will have a sign on their back indicating their pace per mile and their expected time of finish.

At the start of the race, look for the runner wearing bunny ears that is closest to your target finishing time and go line up with that particular rabbit. It's a good idea to introduce yourself, and let the bunny know that you will be part of their pace group.

For 2025, there will be pacers for finishing times of 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, and 2:10.
