Relay
A Tradition of Teamwork and Community
For more than 20 years, the Relay has been a fun part of the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race, welcoming runners of every experience level. Whether you're new to running or a seasoned athlete, the Relay offers a fun, supportive way to take part in one of Thunder Bay's most iconic race-day traditions.
Each five person team completes the full ten mile course, with every runner covering a two mile leg. Team times are recorded at the finish line, making this a true group effort from start to finish.

Why Run the Relay?
The Relay opens the door for a new generation of runners to experience the excitement of race day. It's more than a competition — it's a celebration of community spirit.
Schools, families, friends, co-workers, sports teams, and social clubs all come together to share in the legacy of the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race. The Relay encourages teamwork, camaraderie, and the joy of achieving something meaningful together.
Celebrating the 90th Running
In honour of the 90th running of the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race, the Relay is expanding to accommodate 90 teams. Relay spots fill quickly every year, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
